About Programme

PROGRAMME OVERVIEW

This programme is created for working people and those who are interested to further their education in Islamic studies. The main goals of BIRK are to equip learners with the necessary knowledge, Islamic and universal values.

PROGRAMME OBJECTIVE

  • The programme objectives are:
    1. To enhance knowledge of working adults in the area of Islamic Revealed Knowledge
    2. To provide platform to interface and exchange idea
    3. To enable working adult to achieve the above mentioned objectives without leaving their jobs.

Duration of Programme

The duration of the programme is twelve (12) semesters which is equal to four (4) years.

The programme is conducted in English .

Friday from 6:30pm to 10:30pm
Saturday from 2:30pm to 10:00pm

Assessment Method

Continuous Assessment : 40% – 70%
Final Assessment : 30% - 60%

Programme Structure

Students must complete a total of 128 credit hours in order to qualify for the award of Bachelor Degree in Business Management (Honours). They must pass all courses prescribed in the curriculum structure.

Entry Requirement

General Requirement

  • At least 4 principal passes in the GCE ‘O’ level obtained at least two sitting PLUS 5 years working experience; or
  • At least 4 principal passes in the GCE ‘O’ level obtained in one sitting and Diploma Pendidikan Islam (DPI) Institut Pengajian Tinggi Islam Al-Zuhri with at least Jayyid; or
  • Pass Pre University 2 in Madrasah Al-Maarif Al-Islamiah or Madrasah Aljunied Al- Islamiah or Madrasah Alsagoff Al-Islamiah at least Jayyid; or
  • Diploma in Islamic Studies from PERGAS; or
  • Diploma in Islamic Studies Programme (Collaboration between Darul Arqam and IIUM); or
  • Diploma from institutions recognized by the Government of Malaysia and the Senate of the University.
  • Special consideration will be given to candidates who have excellent academic qualifications or relevant experiences by interview session.

 

Language Requirements

  • For English Language, IELTS at minimum score of 5.5 or TOEFL by paper based with 550 points.
  • For Arabic Language, the students need to take Arabic Placement Test (APT) from CELPAD before they can start with the core program. Students who do not possess the maximum (Level 6) language requirement for Arabic may take up language proficiency courses based on the level of entry on a part time basis. The Arabic language proficiency class will be managed by ICCE and Coordinator from CELPAD.
